1962 Willys Jeep Station Wagon

This is from the last year Willys had the Jeep name. The next year, Kaiser started making the Wagoneer, a very different machine. This one's still got a flathead, inline six cylinder engine----the Hurricane.

With a lumbering ride, the beast can still get up and go---75 mph, without flooring the gas pedal. Stately lines, but a real workhorse. Four-wheel drive, with lock-out hubs, it's good for deep snow, mud, or launching a vintage watercraft from a boat ramp. I had it looking very fine, but several winters of salty roads brought back the rust I'd covered with new sheet metal, bondo, and paint.
