Gourd pieces were attached to a large gourd and all was pyro-engraved, dyed with leather dye and varnished.

Twisted

Pyro-engraved and dyed with oil based leather dye, then varnished. Sea grass and waxed linen thread were used to coil around the opening. Inside is painted with black latex paint.

Autumn

Leaves were burned into the gourd and the background was cut away. It was then stained with leather dye and varnished. Black latex paint was used to paint inside.

Tropical Beaches

This large gourd was stained with leather dye.  Date palm fruit stalks and braided sea grass were coiled around the opening.  The inside was painted with black latex paint.

Nuts'n Bolts

After carving designs into the gourd, it was dyed with cordovan leather dye. Beads and washers were attached with waxed linen thread.  The edge of the gourd was covered with dyed leather and beads were attached with waxed linen thread.  The inside of the gourd was painted with latex paint.

Ancient

A design was pyro-engraved and the gourd was treated with metallic paint, which was then treated with patina to achieve the aged look. It was varnished and the inside painted with black latex paint.
