Capabilities

Engineering CapabilitiesProMech has capabilities to accommodate a variety of business arrangements, including:

• Contract engineering support at your facility;
• Independently managed and executed studies and process development projects;
• Turn-key special machine design/build projects.

FULL OR PART TIME CONTRACT SUPPORT`

For a reasonable hourly fee, ProMech can provide support under contract in order to augment your existing engineering staff during overload periods or for critical projects. Subject to commitments existing at the time of request, ProMech can begin work on very short notice and continue as long as necessary on either a full or part time basis.

This arrangement may alleviate the need for the time consuming and expensive process of recruiting, interviewing and negotiating with prospective permanent employees. However, if the growth of your organization justifies the addition of permanent employees, you can also benefit by immediately applying ProMech's experienced engineering capability to your most pressing issues during the time in which the recruiting process is taking place.

This arrangement can be especially beneficial when developing, debugging and commissioning complex automated manufacturing equipment. In this case, experienced automation engineers are difficult to find, and applying inexperienced manpower to the task can result in cost overruns and schedule delays.

STUDIES AND PROCESS DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

ProMech can work independently, within mutually agreed upon budget and schedule constraints, to perform design studies, engineering feasibility studies or process development projects in order to provide viable, cost effective designs and solutions to your manufacturing problems. This effort can be performed on a time-and-material basis or fixed price, depending upon the definition of the task.

This arrangement can be particularly beneficial for projects where a concept for a new process implementation is needed. The front end effort is critical the success of the project. It is important to consider all factors relating to the project, including technical risk, anticipated financial return and required resources to both execute the project and support the project after implementation. By working with ProMech, you have a resource for experienced, objective engineering judgment which will act strictly to serve your best interests, as well as the technical expertise to help ensure the success of your project.

SPECIAL MACHINE DESIGN AND BUILD

ProMech is equipped to independently execute turn-key design/build projects to provide custom fixturing, assembly/inspection fixtures, stations and moderately sized stand-alone machines, as well as prototype special process tooling for which development and testing is required. This effort can be performed on a time-and-material basis or fixed price, depending upon the definition of the task, and the level of special development required.

DESIGN

• SolidWorks Parametric 3D Solid Modeling CAD Software. ProMech maintains a SolidWorks subscription to assure access to the latest SolidWorks revisions and service packs. ProMech is part of the SolidWorks Manufacturing Network.
• Autocad LT - 2 and 3D Wireframe CAD Software, Fully compatible with Autocad R14 for drafting applications not involving solids
• HP 450 D Size Color Plotter

DOCUMENTATION AND DATA ANALYSIS

FABRICATION

ProMech has relationships with several local machining and metal fabrication shops to provide reliable sources of high quality fabricated components. In particular, ProMech has developed a very strong relationship with Hyco Machining, Inc. of Lake Elmo, Minnesota. The ProMech-Hyco partnership has produced a variety of complex aluminum, tool steel, stainless steel and Delrin components machined directly from CAD files. On several occasions, critical fabricated components from modified designs were delivered in less than 24 hours. Hyco's list of fabrication equipment includes:

• MasterCAM software for cutter path generation from CAD files;
• Milltronics 3 axis CNC milling machine;
• Bridgeport milling machine;
• Hardinge lathe.
