Thanks for your interest in my 1/72 Experimenters Type V11C Cylinder
kit. The total length is about 14.5 inches, and is 2 inches in diameter at its
widest section. It is two 6-inch sections of 2 in OD lexan tube with four o-ring end caps,
and a 2-inch section of 1.75 inch OD lexan with one o-ring end cap. It is designed to go
into the hull through the deck at its widest point in two sections and easily assembled
inside. No hull cutting is required.
This is the new V3 version that comes with all the end caps machined
and a new twin Mabuchi direct drive motor system. The motors come installed and
ready to wire up to your R/C system. As well as the rear ESC and servo mounts. The rear
output seals and now installed in the V3 version.
Plus the servo output linkages are included as well.
A RCABS (Recirculating compressed air ballast system) ballast system
is used for depth control.
The air pump and bladders are included with the kit as well.
This V3 kit is much easier to build as most of the work has been done
by me.
I include the 22 components of the Cylinder and a CD ROM with over
100 photos of my R/C design. Also on the CD are a list of the components I used in mine,
where I purchased them, and a text of how I built mine.
This is not a step-by-step how to kit, but it is not hard to build. I give you the
Cylinder, which is all assembled minus R/C and ballast system. If you do not choose
to completely use my design, you have a base to complete your own operating system. It is not hard for anyone to follow what I did, but I do
take into account you already know basic model building techniques. This is one reason why
I call it an experimenters kit.
I have to say the sub runs very well and I am quite happy with it. I
am asking $195 plus shipping for the experimenters kit. I try to keep them in stock
but as I build them on a first come first served basis e-mail me with your order and I
will contact you as I get your kit done. I will take no money till I am ready to ship.
The kit is also available for those that wish to make a surface
runner sub. This comes minus the ballast pump and bladders and is $175.
Thanks for your interest, Dave.
Check out the photo section for photos of the kit and completed
cylinder.
I use new twin side (Saddle Tank) mounted bladders which are now
included in the basic kit.
