Highways/County Roads: Belle Plaine is served by an outstanding transportation network. the proposed sites are located along U. S. Highway 169. This modern four-lane highway provides an excellent route into the Minneapolis and St. Paul area to the north and Mankato to the south. It also provides a connecting link to the interstate highway system. This is a strong link to the traveling public with over 18,000 vehicles per day traveling the highway.

Interstate I-35 provides service to the north and south. Interstate I-94 runs through the heart of the Twin Cities and provides service to the east and west. Our relatively close location provides swift and convenient access to this system. Two state highways also serve Belle Plaine. State Highway 25 serves Minnesota to the north and State Highway 19 to the east and west.

Air Service: The Minneapolis and St. Paul International Airport is only 45 minutes away. In addition to serving as the home of Northwest Airlines, it is served by all of the major carriers. Air freight facilities are conveniently located adjacent to the Hubert H. Humphrey Charter Terminal.

Flying Cloud Airport, a modern, regional airport, is located in Eden Prairie. It is a short 25 mile drive north. This outstanding facility is served by several charter carriers and also provides maintenance and instructor services.

Local air traffic may access the Belle Plaine airport which is 3 miles from downtown Belle Plaine and consists of a 2,500 ft. sod runway.

Trucking/Busing: Major common carriers provide truck freight services and United Parcel Service and other carriers ensure quick delivery in and out of Belle Plaine.

Greyhound Bus Lines provide daily bus service to the north and south. Rail service in and out of Belle Plaine is provided by Chicago and Northwestern Railway.
