It started out as a doodle. Now, the doodle tells a story.
Early adult years focused on marriage, family, college and work. My creative side lacked outlets and yearned for expression. As life changes followed their inevitable path, my desire to express myself through artistic endeavors remained constant, if unfulfilled.
Significant change in my life caused me to reflect upon what brought me happiness. Rediscovering my expressive, creative side drew me to the visual arts. Working on techniques in various mediums led me to where I am today. I enjoy using graphite and charcoal as the blending of light and dark mimicked my life experiences. Watercolors, pastels and oils bring color and balance. Ultimately, I'm not satisfied with just one medium. Instead, I play with many.
My brain is constantly bombarded with a myriad of images and active scenes. In turn, my passions give rise to works instilled within my heart and soul. Whether fantasy or not, I try to make them realistic and believable. I mean to draw the viewer in and speculate on what the subject is thinking.
My work makes me happy, my soul content. I'm pleased to share them with you.
