This year the SAAC convention was at VIR near Danville, VA.  We drove down for the day on Saturday to check out the show.  Below are a few pics...

Carroll Shelby was unable to attend this year's show but his rig was on hand and a couple new Shelbys, including the new Hertz edition, were on hand.  Note that these are not related to the 2007 GT-500 that Ford SVT is releasing, these are from Shelby Automobiles, Inc.

Here are some of the cars that were in the car show area and in the garage area.

My favorite part of the SAAC conventions is watching all the cars run on the track.  Here are a few pics

Here are a few pics of the #16 George Follmer Boss 302 racecar that was built by Bud Moore Engineering and raced along with the #15 car driven by Parnelli Jones.  I saw this car at the Boss reunion at the Carlisle Ford Nationals in 2005 but couldn't get this close to it.

Here are a few shots of a Holman-Moody-Stroppe prepared Boss 302 from NC!  This car was actually raced by Johnny Mantz.  The owner of this car also owned the 1975 Stroppe Bronco that you can see on my Carlisle Ford Nationals 2006 page.  He has since sold it.
