We are working with people about cleaning up beaches around the lake. Our attempts are to keep the remaining accessible beaches open and clean for people to use. Please return occassionally to see the progress of this site. Below are some of the projects we have planned:

  • Cleanup of First Beach. There is considerable amounts of glass on the beach that needs to be raked. There are also old diapers and other discusting garbage items left behind. We want to put garbage cans up as well as signs telling people to clean up the beach when done. There are also fire pits left behind that need to be cleaned up.
  • Cleanup of Boaters Beach. There is garbage left on the upper camping areas that need to be cleaned up. There are also some broken glass and other containers left behind. There are old stumps and logs in the water that boats hit when approaching the beach that need to be cleared out.
  • Cleanup of the Island. There are numerous spots around the Island that have been left a mess. Garbage has been left as well as fire pits with broken glass. We want to put garbage cans up as well as signs telling people to clean up the Island when done. We also suspect trees have been cut down for burning wood and we are monitoring people to make sure they do not continue this act. We want to post a large sign on each side of the Island with a set of rules such as cleaning, care, and maintenance of it.

More coming soon...

Goals: We want to keep the lake clean, that is a universal goal of all. We want to incorporate community service organizations such as schools to help with the cleanup around the lake. It starts at the beaches and goes from there. There are a lot of areas on 365 and other side roads as well as woodlands above the beaches that are very littered. We want to prevent future acts of littering on the beaches by posting signs and having things such as garbage cans accessible to all beachgoers. We need the support of everyone to do this. Please e-mail us if you would like to take part in helping keep the lake clean.
