My Great, great grandfather came to Minnesota in the 1850’s and made a living as a farmer. I continued that family tradition as the fifth generation family member to work the soil. We grow our vegetables the old fashioned way with no chemicals. This can be very labor intensive but it has its rewards knowing the food is coming from nature the way it was intended to grow.
My wife Jody and I have built an excellent partnership in which she preserve’s the extra produce from the garden and cans them for longer shelf life. I am happy to report we waste very little food with her hard work.
We specialize in tomatoes and grow them in various locations on the property to reduce the risk of crop failure. We also enjoy growing cucumbers, potatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, watermelon, and many other varieties.
In the last few years we have been working on saving seed and each year we add to our inventory by saving seeds from various vegetables. We save carrot seeds, onions, radish, tomato, potatoes, lettuce, spinach and a few more.
