Buck LeaseOur "Lease A Buck" Program is very popular with herds within driving distance of our farm. We like to keep a variety of bucks and they support themselves by breeding does in other herds as well as at home. We ask specifics about your animal care and facilities. If you pass our health and care requirements, we write up a lease agreement - usually for 1 month - and allow one of our boys to go to your farm. Please call early in the season to line up your buck. We have run out every year! On Farm BreedingOur bucks are also available for breeding at the farm. Again, please contact us if you think you may wish to use a buck to be sure he will be at the farm when you need him. We charge by private treaty. Special discounts for herds on DHIA test, Linear Appraisal or Show. Semen SalesMany of our bucks - past & present - have been collected. Check our buck pages and contact us if you would like to buy or trade semen. Tattooing, Disbudding & NeuteringAnimals sold from Terrapin Acres have all been disbudded unless you request in advance that the horns be left on. We strongly recommend horn removal unless you are raising meat goats on range conditions. Registered animals are all tattooed by registry rules before sale. Pet Quality Males (Wethers) are neutered to make them better pets. We will teach these management tasks to anyone who needs help. We also provide limited tattooing, disbudding and neutering services to farms too small to be able to handle these jobs themselves. Call for information on this service as soon as your kids are born. (Even better, call us before the doe's due date if you know you will need us!)
