Information about folk Dancing, Square Dancing and Square Dance Attire

New York Federations

New York has several regional square dance associations and caller groups but no state federation. Some regional groups lack a web page. This unofficial page is an attempt to bring information from various sources together so that visiting clubs will be easier. The list is not complete. Some information is outdated. Thanks to those people who sent updates. The FLADA - Frontier Leaders and Dancers Association - which covered the area from Niagara Falls to Olean and Jamestown - no longer exists. Some of these clubs are members of the Allegany Federation or the Rochester Federation. Dancing in the thousand islands area can be found in Brockville, Prescott and Kingston Ontario and in Canton and Fulton, New York. Adirondack area dances can be found in Canton, NY, Plattsburgh, NY and Champlain, NY with summer dancing at Rocky's in Boonville, NY. Club websites and callers provide updated information. Rochester, Albany, Hudson Valley, Allegany, and the Finger Lakes websites are kept up to date. Many others are outdated but may provide contact information.

Campouts

Kelly's Old Timers play live music for special dances in Western New York.
Rocky's and Stysh's Brown Barn in Boonville, NY offer camping and dancing in the Adirondacks many summer weekends.
Cherry Ridge Campground and Kalyumet Campground in Pennsylvania have square dancing in the summer.
Garden State Square Dance Campers, CrossTrail Travlers , and Southern Tier Wheelers are square dance camping clubs. Many other square dance clubs have a summer weekend listed on the club schedule.
