Square dance festivals, conventions, and special dances often feature shops selling badges, clothing, or accessories. Some shops are not on the internet. Some send out catalogs. This list is not complete but it may make it easier to locate accessories and Square Dance Shoes.

Singles Square Dance Organizations

Solo dancers have a better chance of finding a partner if they mingle rather than sitting on the sidelines. Some of the best festivals and conventions have a solo dancer hall, a singles chairman, planned events for singles, or a meeting room for singles. The solo hall should be dancing the plus program or alternating plus and mainstream. Solo corner signs are not effective. People do not like to sit under a sign waiting for a partner. Couples often take seats directly in front of the signs. Make the singles welcome if you want them to attend your special dance or convention.

Although many clubs welcome dancers without a partner, it is wise to call before going alone. Many singles clubs came into existance because dancers were excluded by couples if they lost their partner. Children and teenagers have also been excluded by many clubs. If allowed to dance, children contribute energy and entheusiasm to the activity.
