OBITUARY: "We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on May 22, 1990, of Mrs. Helen Clementine Augusta Roed at the age of 79 years. She was a resident of Vernon since 1982, and a former resident of Prince George, White Rock, and Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Helen was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her loving family: husband, John of Vernon; sons Lorne (Delores) of Edmonton and Murray of Kelowna; daughter and son-in-law, Audrey andGeorge Turcotte of Vernon, eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Douglas Anderson of Cumberland, B.C.; sisters Emma Crawford of Brandon, Man., Edith Matheson of Regina, Sask., and Doreen Johanson of Ponoka, Alta. and a number of nieces and nephews. Cremation. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vernon Funeral Home, with the Reverend Larry Lin officiating.
