Fitness Assessment

Want to get fit but not sure where to begin?  Our certified staff will assist and motivate you to improve your health and maximize your fitness level.  You will receive one-on-one instruction to develop a fitness program that will meet your goals.  Call the JCPRC office at (304)728-3207 for more information.

 

Walking for Fitness

This walking opportunity is designed for those individuals interested in participating in a self-motivated walking program in the comfort of an indoor track facility.  It is not instructor-led, but information will be provided and an optional clinic will be held prior to the beginning of the schedule.  Once registered, you may walk at  your convenience during the times and dates listed.  Become a member of the 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, etc. Mile Club and earn incentive awards by keeping track of your distance during the 12 week session.  As always, prior to any exercise program, you should consult your physician.  Fee:  $12.00 for a 12 week session; includes T-shirt and incentive awards.  Program begins September 15, 2006, call the JCPRC office at (304) 728-3207 for walking times and registration information.

 

Golf

The JCPRC and Locust Hill Golf Course have teamed up to offer this exciting program to you this fall.  Tim McKee has been a golf professional since 1991 and was voted #1 teaching professional by Golf Digest. 

This program is designed for those 16 and older.  You will have the opportunity to work on putting, chipping and full swings while using iron and wood clubs.  Each participant will receive a rule book, two sleeves of golf balls and a certificate for a 9 hole green fee at Locust Hill Golf Course.

Fitness Video Club

Do you enjoy working out to fitness videos but don’t have the space at home?  This is the solution to your dilemma.  Workout videos will be provided and as a group, the class will choose which video to exercise to each week.  Participants are also encouraged to bring their own video to share with the group.

Dance for Fitness

This brand new class will focus on toning and flexibility based on basic ballet exercises including abs work.  Participants will also learn a fun Jazz dance combination.  No prior dance experience is needed.  Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

Low Impact Aerobics/Muscle Conditioning

This motivating, low impact, high energy cardiovascular workout is appropriate for the novice and senior exerciser.  Class consists of thirty minutes of cardio and a thirty minute conditioning and flexibility component.

Cardio Kickboxing/Muscle Conditioning

Join us for a high energy workout!  You will learn the basic moves of kickboxing the first 30 min. of class.   We will teach the proper technique and safety of kicking, striking, and punching.  The final 30 min. consists of conditioning and flexibility.  Get ready to sweat!  Great for all fitness levels.  Low & High Impact will be taught.

Pilates

Using your core, Pilates strengthens, lengthens, and tones our whole body.  Our well trained instructors will take you through the first 10 moves and beyond. Firm abdominal muscles with mat exercises and the use of a variety of props.
