Corvair Sites and Resources

Listed below are a number of sites where you can get parts or help for your Corvair restoration project. This by no means a complete listing. It is just a listing of those sites I seem to go back to on a regular basis. To me that tends to be a telling factor on just how valuable a site really is when working on your project. Some folks have different experiences with vendors and claim they will never go back. I have found that if you are truly a reasonable person, the vendors are as well and you can work something out. Keep in mind though these folks are running a business, and if the site says no returns for color or whatever, don't expect to return your purchase for those reasons.

Corvair Vendors and Sites What to Expect
Corvair Center Forum
www.corvaircenter.com
By far the absolute best resource on the planet for questions on your Corvair restoration.  It is a very active board, and there is no question too simple or basic that won't be answered without judgment.  You can post pictures of what you are trying to explain as long as they are under 100kb in size.

The site has guys who are advocates of stock Corvairs, and those who think no modification is too out of place.  The common thing between them is they all love the cars, and are more than willing to help.  It is not uncommon to get immediate answers to your questions.

The site is so active, that occasionally it will go down due to high bandwidth usage.  I'd rather have this problem than a stale site with no participation.

Clarks Corvair
www.corvair.com
Extensive online catalog of products for all model years.  As with other vendors, they provide a wealth of technical information on the site as well with regard to recommendations etc.  You can find reproduction, NOS, and used parts.

Online catalog is full of pictures and each part number is linked directly to the product search so you can find current pricing and availability.  Located on the east coast this is a great resource.

Corvair Underground
www.corvairunderground.com
Another supplier of new reproduction, NOS, and used parts.  They too are on the coast, just the west coast in Seattle.  Super support for the Corvair guy, with technical knowledge and support.

An online catalog is available for download, however plan on a while as it is about 25MB in size.  A bit unweldy for most folks.  You can order the catalog as well in hard copy.

California Corvair
www.californiacorvairparts.com
West coast supplier of used and new Corvair parts.  No online catalog, but a simple phone call can get you all the help you need.
Corvair Ranch
www.corvairranch.com
Source for used parts.  Well referenced by most restoration guys.
Larry's Corvair
www.larryscorvair.com
Larry Claypool's site for Corvair parts and supplies.  Larry has been into Corvairs "forever".
