I myself have an incurable addiction to the company and it's games. I'll admit it: I own an Atari 2600 emulator. So what? The system is well over 20 years old, and few games even have copyright protection on them. For the ones that do, the majority of the owners don't even care anymore, and do nothing to try and stop Atari emulation.
No other video game company has an attitude like that toward emulation; Atari is too focused on new product to really worry about the legality of all of it. In fact many Atari veterans applaud it, calling it a method of preservation, which it truly is. Sorry to all those readers who expected an enlighting disscussion on Atari instead of emulation. ;)

They changed the face of rock and roll, made it what it is today. Over the years, the band went in virtually all directions; from the standard to the spaced-out, the Beatles did it all.
Personally, I prefer the band's middle period to late works, which went with a more psychedelic style(which they practically invented).

This show, which aired in the late 60's, starred Patrick McGoohan as a British secret agent who resigns for no apparent reason and is captured shortly thereafter.
He awaks on a topsy turvy island known only as "The Village". The series revolves around Number Six's (as McGoohan's character is known as on the island) attempts at escape and his struggle to find out the person behind all of this.
Truly a great series. For more info, check out the official site at www.the-prisoner-6.freeserve.co.uk

In all seriousness, Kubrick's reputation as a filmmaker dropped steadily with the production of his more "artistic" films (read: explicit). I personally cannot not make a judgement on those particular films as I have not been allowed to see them. Yep, they can get pretty grusome, from what I've been told.
But I'm writing this to tell you what I like about Stanley Kubrick and his films, not what I dislike. Of the limited number of Kubrick films I've seen (Spartacus, Dr.Strangelove, 2001), my favorite would have to be Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb.
This movie is a truly hilarious satire on the Cold War and nuclear war, and was ranked as the Third Best Comedy of The 20th Century by the American Film Institute (who also happened to name Jack Nicholson as one of the greatest villians in The Shining, another Kubrick film.)
