Course Safety Rules

Drift Land Texas 11/12/2015 *      RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events.  These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.   NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND OR REGULATIONS.  They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable requirements.  NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS.  Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Drift Land Texas Gymkhana is a timed obstacle course, non- speed driving skill contest event.  Driver’s operate approved automobiles on short courses that emphasize car handling and agility rather than speed or power. Lowest time for successful completion of the course after time penalty errors are calculated, wins.  There is only ONE car allowed on course at a time Gymkhana Classes- R-  Vehicle is powered by only the rear wheels. F-  Vehicle is powered by only the front wheels A-  Vehicle is powered by any combination of both front and rear wheels. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ N- Novice. First event and inexperienced drivers will be identified by N after another class (ex. FN).    P-Prepared.  Experienced driver’s participating in normal competition.  P will follow clas designation. (ex. RP is Rear wheel drive Prepared) Participants must be 18 years of age or older or 16+ with BOTH parents present and consenting.
All classes Rules- Automobile is defined as any 4 wheeled vehicle that places the driver in a seated position, with sufficient surrounding protection and all necessary components for safe operation.  To include: (but not a complete list) frame, brakes, steering, seat, seat belt, and engine. This may include cars, custom builds, and or light trucks. All vehicles must conform to, less than square, height to width rollover risk limits for consideration.  See chart.  Any vehicle may be prohibited by discretion of Drift Land Texas if any safety concern is identified in its rollover risk or otherwise.    Driver is required to Wear DOT helmet at all times vehicle is moving Driver is required to wear OE or better seat belt restraints at all times vehicle is in motion Numbers for identification must be visible on the passenger side of the car in 3” letter minimum Nitrous is not allowed in any class. Charge must be disabled and lines purged to prevent usage. Convertibles must be equipped with rollover protection of OE design or better. No loose articles in vehicle after teched into the event! ‘loose’ defined by Drift Land Texas will error on safety. Tires must be safe no cord or belts showing, and dot approved or racing tire is accepted for competition use.
Rules
