Some time ago, my mother and I went to a fabric store late in the afternoon and spend hours there, looking for the right pieces of cloth. When we came out, it was evening. The store was on the corner of a busy intersecction and the parking lot came out into a street with two lanes, one had vehicles traveling straight ahead, and other turned the corner into another street. We had gone there many, many times, and it was something we didn't even have to think about, we always had to get on the lane that turned the corner, because the lane that moved vehicles straight ahead, was going against traffic. Well, the street was dark and although there were a lot of vehicles moving, it seemed we didn't see very well, we turned out of the parking lot and we got on the lane to turn the corner, like we had done many times before, and waited for the light on the corner to change. . .then it happened!
A young man jumped out of the back seat of a car that had lined up just beside us and gestured vehement and anxiously for us to get out of that lane because that was the lane of incoming traffic! Petrified, we understood, just as the light was beginning to change and the waiting cars, like a pack of attack dogs were about to rush straight at us. With grateful hearts we followed the young man's car as it sped away, turning smoothly the corner, leading us into safety. But amazingly, we didnīt see it anymore. It had disappeared from our view. We always pray to our kind heavenly Father before we go anywhere, and that night, our prayer for safety was answered.
I'm sure many of you have had times in which God intervened to protect or to save your life. He cares.
But sadly, most people quickly forget Him and move on as if we didn't need Him in our lives. The promises
of God stand clear and distinct as if written in letters of gold. We can certainly count on His word.
But how many times we have disappointed His great heart of love?
We have wandered far from Him, let us return. His arms are open to receive us today. But His Holy Word
says it will not always be so, that He has a day appointed in which His mercy will be at an end.
Why not go to Him today? His love will meet you a good way off.
