The Honorable the Circuit Court of Bay County. The petition of Charles Frederick Doering, hereby filed respectfully showeth: First. My place of residence is 906 Polk St., Bay City, Mich. Second, my occupation is fireman. Third, that I was born on the 30th of January anno Domini 1880 at Grounhof, Pommeran, Germany. Fourth, I emigrated to the United States from Antwerp, Belgium on or about the 30th day of March anno Domini 1883 and arrived in the United States at the port of New York City on the 11th day of April anno Domini 1883 on the vessel Pennland. Fifth I declared my intention to become a citizen of the United States on the 7th day of March anno Domini 1893 at Bay City in the Circuit Court of Bay County. Sixth I am Married. My wife's name is Katherine Doering. She was born in Osborn, Green Co., Ohio and now resides at 906 Polk St. Bay City, Mich. I have five children, and the name, date and place of birth and place of residence of each of said children is as follows: Amanda born Mar. 1, 1901; Luther born June 5, 1902; Erich born Sept. 6, 1903; Arthur born Oct. 14, 1905; Lillian born April 28th, 1908 all born in Bay City & now reside in Bay City except Luther who was born in Essexville, Mich. Seventh, I am not a disbeliever in or opposed to organized government or a member of or affiliated with any organization or body of persons teaching disbelief in or opposed to organized government. I am not a polygamist nor a believer in the practice of polygamy. I am attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and it is my intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce absolutely and forever all allegiances and fidelity to any foreign prices, potentates, state or sovereignty, and particularly to William German Emperor of whom at this time I am a subject, and it is my intention to reside permanently in the United States. Eighth, I am able to speak the English language. Nineth, I have resided continuously in the United States of America since 13th April 1883 and in the State of Michigan continuously since 2nd April 1884. Signed - 23 Dec 1912
