Gary Jensen of Alexis was named the Outstanding District Director for Area 2 by the Association of Illinois Soil & Water Conservation Districts (AISWCD). Prairie Farmer Magazine is the sponsor of the award.

Gary has been a director for the past seven years. He and his wife Regina, and daughter Megan, farm and have a cow/calf herd. His dedication to conservation is not only evident in his giving of time to community service, but also the farm as well. Gary uses various practices to conserve and protect the natural resources on his farm, including one of the first seven streambank stabilization projects in the county.
