RPM upgrade info for newer version by carl0s hathc0ck

So you just bought an newer version of RPM and is wondering what kind of fancy upgrades you can do for it.

Well here's a list of things that I found works with the RPM.

How to tell if you have a newer style rpm:
The most obvious is the the ram housing. If it's screwed on, it's the newer version. If it uses a pin to hold it back, it's the old version. Another indication you have a newer version is that it has 2 buttons on the back of the grip frame. The older ones have just one. These are just a couple of visual indications, but these would pretty much guarantee what version you have.

Vertical adapter:
These are the straight bolt on types of VA's available out there.
The Evil Omen ASA2 is available here.
The New Designz Impulse ASA for the newer Impulses also work. They are available at various online stores.

Feedneck:
Spyder feednecks with tabs and no holes work with slight modification by trimming the tabs.

Vertical regulator:
Just about any that is out there that is capable of pressure ranges of 100-300 psi.

Barrel:
Anything autococker threaded.

On/Off, Bottom line adapter:
It's preference. There are plenty out there that fit.

Boards:
Anything that fits on a wrath. If you pick a stock wrath board, you'll need the LCD screen though. You can chose from various board suppliers for wraths.
The Scenario Dreams T-board works, but you'll have to replace the stock eyes.
The boards from Lucky or Virtue are straight drop in's. Just take out the old board, and put in the new board. Just keep track of what wire goes where. The wire colors match the ones on the wrath so just stick with the wrath install instructions and you'll be safe.

Bolt:
Anything designed for a wrath. The stock RPM bolt is the same as the one from the Wrath LTD. The Alamo City Paintball bolt is a popular one for Wrath owners, I haven't had any personal experiences with it though.

Ram:
Anything designed for a wrath. The newer version of rpms already use a ram that's about the same weight as the Alamo City Paintball ram. There shouldn't be any reason to be replacing your ram unless you want to use something heavier (like the stock wrath ram, or the ram from the older version RPM).

QEV:
Planet eclipse QEV. You would want to run an autococker sized hose from the solenoid to the QEV to prevent any leaks, since the barb on the QEV is a little small. They can be found at various online stores like Airsoldier, Actionvillage or Paintball Gateway.

Fixing barrel breaks:
I started this thread http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=1893615 a month after I got my rpm. The modifications that I did helped me, maybe it will help you if you have a similar problem. Here's the short version:
1. Clean off the bolt, breech, and barrel of any paint or debris.
2. Use only 1 detent.
3. Cover up all the vent holes on the ram housing with tape. Pic1 , Pic2
4. Add a bumper o-ring to the ram. You'll need an O-ring, AS568A standard size #013. Pic
5. Sand the top front of the bolt so that the edges are rounded off.
6. Make sure that the operating pressure is below 280 psi. I have found that 240 psi is a good starting place and just change the pressure based on the chrono.
7. If you have done steps 1-6 and it's still breaking paint, double check if you have done everything from steps 1-6, then try a smaller sized paintball brand like Draxxus.
8. If you have done steps 1-7 and it's still breaking, then take 320 grit sand paper and sand down the opening of the barrel. Smooth out the bevel on the ID of the opening. Pic
9. If you have done steps 1-8 and you still have the same problem, run around naked in front of your house in the middle of the day when your neighbors are out. By then you'll have bigger problems to worry about and you won't be thinking about the RPM breaking balls everytime you use it.
