RPM with Vertical Adapter Installed

Old Style RPM Markers have issues with the hole for the VA being metric, so check out the VA mod page for more information on what works and what doesn’t.

New Style with a Palmer Direct Stabilizer Installed.  Just about any VA with a standard 1/8 NPT will work.

Other differences include;

1.    Detents;               old style uses Intimidator / new style uses Wrath

2.    Body;                   old style rounded bottom / new style flat bottom

3.    Body;                   old style uses metric bolts / new style bolts are standard

4.    Trigger frame;     old style has serial number / new style does not have number

5.    Trigger;                old style has rounded edges / new style has flat edges

6.    Valve;                  old style has a stock valve (spyder style) / new style has a custom valve (32* MagnaPort style)

7.    Eyes;                   old style has short pig tail for easy removal / new style wires run directly to the board

Discussion between old style and new style RPM features and quality, please note that these are my personal opinion only nothing more.

These are the things I like about each marker;

1.    Old style has better quality machining and anodized finish. Overall the finish just looks better.

2.    Old style has a nice quality finished trigger, still sloppy, but looks and feels better.

3.    Old style has a more user friendly board, meaning a slide switch for mode selection.

4.    Old style already has a QEV installed.

5.    Old style has a better fitting bolt.

6.    Old style trigger frame is easy to remove due to plug-ins for the eyes at the trigger frame.

1.    New style has a more open “custom style” valve (similar to the 32* MagnaPort).

2.    New style has a Delrin Ram (and an aluminum ram sleeve to prevent ware).

3.    New style has a one piece ram housing.

4.    New style bolt is black.

5.    New body style body has a flat bottom

6.    New style has standard threads in most places (only one 3mm 90* barb fitting is metric).

These are some things I don’t like about each marker;

1.    Old style uses metric threads (difficult to install a Vertical Adapter due to thread pattern).

2.    Old style ram housing with ram cap (don’t like the idea the cap is held in place by such a small screw).

3.    Old style large brass ram.

4.    Old style doesn’t use a ram sleeve.

1.    New style finish, just looks cheap compared to the old style finish.

2.    New style can have the chamber over bored causing chops unless specific barrels are used.

3.    New style doesn’t come with a QEV.

4.    New style board is more difficult to change modes and offers less options (modes are changed by a jumper).
