VIRGIL YOUTH COMMISSION UPDATES FOR JULY 2010
• Ninety one Vacation Bible School children planted 96 beautiful and sturdy marigolds in the Gazebo Garden. . The Garden Club paid for the plants. Thanks. The garden looks beautiful.
• A very nice retirement party was held in honor of Linda Hall’s twenty years of dedicated service as Director of the Before & After School Program. Thank you Linda!
• The search will begin soon to hire a director for the program. Please contact Edie Eaton 835-6437, Sue Connelly 835-6595, or Sandy Price 835-6711 if interested.
• Gazebo concerts have begun. Please join us every Wednesday night through the summer. See attached.
• The community gardens plots all have gardeners to tend to them.
• Coming up: Summer Garden and Sunflower Contest in August.
• The Farmers’ Market under the guidance of Chris Applegate will be starting June 12th. It will be held on Saturday mornings at the four corners. New vendors are welcome please call Chris at 835-6205. Support your friends and neighbors.
• Linda and Nelson Stull and family members are doing a Summer Soccer Program on Mondays [5 PM] and Saturdays [8 AM]. All are welcome. Call 835-6702 for details.
• Chris & Arlene Barber will be holding a soccer/t ball program for developmentally delayed children starting on July 9th and held on Friday nights from 6-7 PM at Virgil Fields, call Chris or Arlene at 591-5723.
• An historical play is coming this summer. Rachelle Sherman, Director, is looking for some actors and helpers. Call her at 849-3377 and join the fun.
