This record was created between Febuary 2002-July 2002 while hiking on the Appalachian Trail ,a 2,100+ mile hike that

runs from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Mount Katahdin, Maine. It was written on two seperate hikes with gypsonic.

One from Harper's Ferry, West Virginia to Pearisburg, Virginia in the winter of 2002. My laptop battery was frozen for

most of the journey. I used to hold it close to the fire (don't try this at home kids!) to warm it up just to get a few minutes of

life from it. The weather became warm enough to write outdoors once or twice during that entire trip. The majority of the

songs written during that hike we're at stays in hostels or stops in towns (refer to Track Location section below). That

journey was interupted by a lack of funds to continue, so we spent the little money we had left to get a bus from

Pearisburg to a stop near Harrisonburg where my big brother and his wife live. They came and picked us up and we spent a

week chilling with them. They were taking a trip back up to Lancaster, Pa (our home at the time) so we hitched a ride back with

them. So we went back to Lancaster for about a month, got some odd jobs here and there, stayed with friends, and earned

enough money to start a new trip. The second trip started in April 2002, it began in Bennington, Vermont and ended in

Gorham, New Hampshire. This section of the trail was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Much of the trail was above treeline, so there

was views for as far as the eye could see. Also the weather had warmed up, so my laptop was now functioning. I could get a

good 2 hours of music making out of a full battery charge which was filled by plugging into any outlet I could find while going

through towns (cafes, restaraunts, hostels, minimarts, etc.) Anywhere I saw a plug I'd sit down, pull my Battery

Charging cord out and plug in my backpack. Our trip ended 20 miles from the Maine border in Gorham, N.H.
