613 Mitzvot
Negative Mitzvah 37
Not to consult the yidoni

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 18:10-11
Lo-yimatse vecha, ma'avir beno-uvito ba'esh, kosem ksamim, me'onen umenachesh umchashef, vechover chaver, vesho'el ov veyid'oni, vedoresh el-hametim.
There should not be found among you, who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or divine divinations, or observes times, or observes signs and omens or practices witchcraft, or use incantations, or inquire of familiar spirits, soothsayer (knower), or those inquiring of the dead.

Negative Mitzvah 9 prohibits the practice of yidoni, this mitzvah prohibits us from consulting those who practice this form of divination. The medium may use the bone of an animal such as a bird and chirp and mutter in a mystical tongue or he may use drugs to produce a trance like state in order to contact the spirit world.

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 8:19
When they tell you, "Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with yidoni, who chirp and who mutter:" shouldn't a people consult with their Elohim? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

The root for yidoni is (yada'). It means to know by experience. Therefore, we should not seek information from those who have a spiritual experience other than what has been ordained by YHVH. Using an Ouiji board would be prohibited by this mitzvah.

These spirits are not departed human spirits, but rather other spiritual beings. They may be known as "ascended masters" or "spirit guides" today. Or they might be seen as "angels."

Kolossi (Colossians) 2:18
Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.

The worship of "angels" is prohibited here.

1 Timothy 4:1
But the Ruach says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons

This passage calls a spade a spade... These spirits are nothing but seducing, lying spirits and demons.

2 Korinthi (Corinthians) 11:14
And no wonder, for even ha-satan masquerades as an angel of light.
