Not to make baldness in mourning
When someone who is close to us dies, we feel sorrow. But the nations have ways of displaying this grief in ways that YHVH doesn't want us to practice, but we are His children, and He has chosen us to be a holy, unique people for Him. One of the ways, the nations showed grief was by tearing out the hair from the top of the head, making a bald spot. But again, we are His children! We are not without hope!
1 Thessalonians 4:13
We do not want you to lack knowledge, Chaverim, concerning those who have "fallen
asleep." The tachlis (purpose) is that you not have agmat nefesh (grief)
like the rest, who do not have tikvah (hope). (Orthodox Jewish Bible)
For you didn't receive the ruach (spirit) of bondage again to fear, but you received the Ruach of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Ruach himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of Elohim;and if children, then heirs; heirs of Elohim, and joint heirs with Messiah; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us. (Romans 8:15-19)
Therefore, to mourn like those who have no hope, we demonstrate a lack of trust of Adonai "m'chayeh metim atah rav l'hoshi'a" (the Resurrector of the dead, abundantly able to save - from the Amidah).
"I believe with complete faith that there will be a resurrection of the dead whenever the wish emanates from the Creator, Blessed is His Name and exalted is His mention, forever all for all eternity" (Ramban's Thirteen Principle of Faith).
Therefore Marta said to Yeshua, "Adoni, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn't have died. Even now I know that, whatever you ask of Elohim, Elohim will give you." Yeshua said to her, "Your brother will rise again. "Marta said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Yeshua said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" She said to him, "Yes, Adoni. I have come to believe that you are the Messiah, God's Son, he who comes into the world." (John 11:21-27)
The Messiah is our hope! He is our resurrection!
