613 Mitzvot
Negative Mitzvah 17
Don't be attracted to the person
seeking to mislead you to idols.
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 13:9 (8)
Lo-toveh lo velo tishma elav velo-tachos eynecha alav velo-tachmol velo-techaseh alav.
Do not agree with him, and do not listen to him. Do not let your eyes pity him, do not show him any mercy, and do not try to cover up for him,
The Hebrew word translated "agree with" is abah. It means to consent to, yield to, accept. The Targum Yonatan interprets it "to agree with," while Rashi interprets it "be tempted by." Therefore, we should not yield to the meysit, "the person enticing others to worship idols."
Ephesians 5:5-7
For of this you can be sure: every sexually immoral, impure or greedy person—that is, every idol-worshipper—has no share in the Kingdom of the Messiah and of Elohim. Let no one deceive you with empty talk; for it is because of these things that Elohim’s judgment is coming on those who disobey him. So don’t become partners with them!
I know of a "minister" in a Christian church who is promoting reike, a form of healing using psychic energies. Such a thing is indeed an idolatrous practice.
1 Yochanan (John) 4:1
Dear friends, don’t trust every spirit. On the contrary, test the spirits to see whether they are from Elohim; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Matthew 24:24
for there will appear false Messiahs and false prophets performing great miracles—amazing things!—so as to fool even the chosen, if possible.
People may speak with persuasive talk, and may even appear to work great miracles. But hasatan can counterfeit true miracles. Just because something is miraculous, it doesn't mean that it is from Elohim.
