I welcome your comments about my book. Please feel free to send them to SuLindHill.
"It was excellent. I think both seagoing and non-seagoing people will
really enjoy the book. I sure liked it!"
- Captain
Michael Blanton, U.S. Merchant Marine (retired), Nevada City, CA
"Hi Larry, Just finished reading Tropical Depression and wanted you to
know that I enjoyed it very much.
I spent a couple of days reading it and found it hard to put down the first day.
The second day when I had a
chance to continue reading, I did not put it down until I was finished.
I spent 3 1/2 years aboard 3 different
navy ships in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This book will appeal to
civilian and military sailors
throughout the world."
- Dave Lamberson, Canandaigua, NY
"I just finished reading Tropical Depression, it was excellent! You had me laughing, crying and sitting on the edge of my seat throughout the book."
- Alex Turko, Melbourne, FL
"Larry, I just wanted to tell you that I finished Tropical Depression and enjoyed it very much. It brought back lots of memories for me and a few familiar names and events that were fading a bit. Having read a few other 'manuscripts' over the years from new authors, I also thought it was very well written."
- Captain J.E. Carr, former LNG carrier master, London, UK
"Larry, I just finished reading Tropical Depression, it was a great book; the title, of course caught my attention and as I read I found it very enjoyable, I read it in three days. Your love of the sea comes through. I found myself on the ship along with your crew. Well done!
"I loved it!"
- Nancy Viola, Piffard, NY
"Mr. Dickens; Just finished your book. I enjoyed it very much; it's great reading to anybody who, like me, enjoys all sea stories. I hope you will find the time to write more adult books. I am a former Navyman and served on old Fleet class ocean tugs, first as a Quartermaster and later as a Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. Like you, I've seen the South China Sea at its best and worst. I can't believe it's any easier on a long vessel like a LNG carrier than a 200 foot tug. Smooth sailing and a landman's breeze."
- Jim Thompson, Farmington, NY
"I am a NON fiction
reader so I was out of my 'element.' On a scale of 1-10 (ten best) you
get a 10.
You are a 'stink pot' sailor. I am a sailboat sailor. Have done
several passages. Most recently we sailed
to French Polynesia and stayed for a year. Your detail and 'story' about
being around the water is really great.
NON fiction. Again, it was a pleasure. The best to you in the
future."
- Bruce Curtis, Lahaina, Hawaii
"I enjoyed it so much I read it a second
time!"
- Roger
Kessler, Canandaigua, NY
