GREAT REVIEWS FOR MEBA
AUTHOR’S LATEST; NEW BOOK ON THE HORIZON
MEBA member Larry Dickens has received high praise from critics and readers
for his latest novel - a children’s book that entertains while poignantly
delivering life lessons about cancer. Mrs. McGillacuddy's Garden Party
prompted
one Amazon.com reader to exclaim, “What a wonderful story! I highly
recommend it to anyone, regardless of age.” Brother Dickens, who holds an
unlimited ocean master's license, began spending his time between shipping
assignments by writing books and screenplays. “The sea life provided a lot
of time to write. Like my Union brothers and sisters, home time with the
family after a long tour is a time to live twice as much and twice as fast,
so finding time to write at home and search for a publisher was difficult,”
Dickens says.
The book was released in March through 1st Books Library (www.1stBooks.com).
You can order the book from 1st Books by calling 1-888-280-7715. The book
is also available at online bookstores everywhere including Amazon.com. A portion
of books sales is being used to donate books to cancer camps and children's
hospitals throughout the nation. Larry is anticipating the release of his
latest novel, Tropical Depression, arriving soon. “It's a modern day, very
pro-U.S. Merchant Marine story and should be of interest to many people,” he
noted. Excerpts and details can be viewed on Larry’s website
