Welcome to St. John Tigerton’s ACT Webpage!!!

 

ACT (Active Christian Teens) is St. John’s youth group whose purpose is to provide clean, wholesome fellowship and fun in a Christian environment.  The purpose of the group is to help all the youth of St. John to grow as Christians through Service, Worship, Education, Recreation, and Fellowship. ACT is open to all teens/pre-teens in grades 5-12.  The youth group directors are

Natalie Kratzke and Paula Selle.

 

Our members so far this year are:  Madison Dzioba, Preston Dzioba, Aqeel Jackson, Ashley Knaap, Abby Knaap, Tyler Koepke, Molly Kratzke, Bradley Kratzke, Woodrow Nelson, Caitlin Selle, Elizabeth Selle, Tasha Selle, River Spoehr, and Meadow Spoehr

Our youth group meets at 6pm on the first Sunday of every month for Bible Study and to plan upcoming events.  Events include both community service projects and “just for fun” projects.

Nov 13th:Movie Night ~ A Christmas Carol 3D at the Cedar Creek Cinema

Dec 6th:   Meeting @ 6pm and Tie blankets to donate to Safe Haven in Shawano

Dec ?:      Make Christmas cards and sing carols at the apartments

Jan 3rd:   Meeting @ 6pm

Jan ?:      Bowling Event with neighboring youth groups

Feb 5-7:  Youth Encounter in the Dells

Feb ?:     Work the food stand for Dartball Tournament

Feb ?:     Sledding at Navarino Slopes

What we’ve done so far:

 

Oct 2009

The youth prepared a spaghetti dinner at church and served it at the Jubilee House in Wausau.  The kids all did a wonderful job at this event.  We were complimented several times by the soup kitchen members on how great of a job the kids were doing.  It was a great experience for them.

 

 

 

Our Kick-Off Event was bowling at Resch Lanes in Wittenberg.  We had pizza, soda, and loads of fun!

 

July 2009

Hosted and played in a volleyball tournament between neighboring churches. 

    

 

June 2009

Took a trip to Mt. Olympus in the Dells.

 

May 2009

Cleaned and raked Ruth Satre’s lawn.

 

April 2009

The group visited the Lodge at Cedar Creek for a day of swimming and fun.

 

Prepared and served a breakfast for Easter Sunday.

   

 

 

March 2009

The youth served and cleaned up the soup supper on Ash Wednesday.

 

We went to Funset Blvd and played laser tag and rode bumper cars.  Check the bulletin in church for pictures.

 

February 2009

We went tubing at Navarino Slopes

January 2009

Held a Youth Bowling Event at Resch Lanes for our neighboring churches.

 

December 2008

Packed the Christmas bags for the children.

 

Made Christmas cards for the residents in the elderly apartments in town, delivered them and sang carols.

 

November 2008

Went to the Haunted House in Galloway

 

October 2008

Served a spaghetti dinner at the soup kitchen Jubilee House in Wausau.
