The Ten Commandments

These Symbols were added to the front wall of the church, one on each side of the Alter, in 2003. They
were made by Jonathon Staley, a professional artist who was a member of our congregation. The one on
left signifies Communion and the one on the right signifies the Baptism. It is located above the Baptismal
fount.

Above is a picture of the Lord’s Prayer Cross, which is located on the back wall of the church. Each symbol on this cross represents a part of the Lord’s Prayer. Starting on top and going down from left to right, the symbols and meanings are as follows.
Hallowed Be Thy Name-Rays of Light=Holiness, Triangle=Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Hebrew Letter=Abbreviation for God
Thy Kingdom Come-Dove=Holy Spirit coming down, Crown=God’s Kingdom
Thy Will Be Done On Earth As It Is In Heaven-Cloud=Heaven, Cross=God’s Will, Glove=Earth
Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread-Roof=House, Bread=Daily Food, Shirt=Clothing
Forgive Us Our Trespasses, As We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us-Cross Tilted=Forgiveness, Misshapen Globe=Sinful World
Lead Us Not Into Temptation-The Cross is over (victorious) the serpent of devil
But Deliver Us From Evil-God’s Hand Separating Man from the serpent or Devil
For Thine Is The Kingdom, And The Power And The Glory-Crown=Kingdom, Lightning=Power, Burst of Light=Glory
Amen-Is over a Solid Cross. In Christ, Salvation is Finished
