Facilitator Training: This is a 6-week training session for facilitators of Faith Sharing Groups or SCC’s.  In these groups people can speak of their faith and what is important to them.  It is important that they are listened to and “received.”  The facilitator plays an important part by

·        Helping the group to stay focused

·        Helping to create a “safe” atmosphere where trust can grow

Facilitator Training focuses on what the facilitator can do to encourage this type of sharing.  Two major areas of focus are listening skills and “group life.”  Facilitators:  Mary Ann Fackelman and Patricia Scouten.  Cost:  $60.00 per 6-week session (includes handouts.)  NB:  Attendance is required at all sessions since learning is cumulative and experiential.  Can be offered in fewer sessions depending on the hopes/needs of the participants.

Faith Sharing:  We offer assistance in starting and maintaining Faith Sharing Groups and Small Christian Communities.

Massage Therapy:  Linda Hass-Voellinger is a licensed massage therapist, having graduated from the New York Institute of Massage in Buffalo.  She has continued her education in the area of pain management and is able to work with people who have chronic pain.  She is available on Mondays.  Call 663-5856 to set up an appointment.  Rates:  $30 per half-hour; $50 per hour.

Ministry and Its Gifts : Do you have people in your ministry losing steam, focus or motivation?  This session invites people in any ministry to look at the gifts they bring to their ministry and to notice how the ministry is affecting or forming them.  It also encourages them to look at their ministry in the light of Christ’s call to them.

Parish Pastoral Councils:  We’ve really enjoyed working with councils over the past five years and have (with the help of participating councils) developed various programs for Parish Councils to use depending on their current  make-up and future hopes, goals and expectations. (Programs include doing “Graced Histories,” creating Mission Statements and Working Covenants, learning principles of Collaboration and Consensus Decision Making, and fostering Servant Leadership and Leadership Development at all levels.)
Pastoral Counseling Therapy Works is a private practice dedicated to improving wellness in all persons who seek a healthy relationship with self and others.  Older children, teens, adults and couples are all welcome and will be treated with the greatest of care.  Therapist Elizabeth (Betsy) A. MacKinnon, LCSW-R believes that caring for the Mind, Body and Soul are integral components of deep and lasting healing.  If you want help with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Abuse, Life Changes and Transitions, Crisis Intervention, etc., call the Prayer Center at 663-5856 and we will put you in touch with Betsy.  Betsy will meet people at the Prayer Center if they do not want to go to her office.   Betsy charges on a sliding scale according to income.
Prayer and Meditation for Children: If you’d like to be introduced to leading children through some prayer and meditation, or if you’d like to have us do some in your school, give us a call.  It is a very moving and powerful thing to watch children find Christ, quiet, peace and safety within themselves.
A Location for a RETREAT or “time away”: We enjoy working with individuals or groups planning a special time away from the hubbub. Whether you just need access to the space and special atmosphere of the center or would also like help facilitating a retreat or enrichment day, feel free to give us a call.
