ATTENTION BUSINESS LEADERS:
WOODSTOCK BUSINESS CONFERENCE (WBC)

The Rochester chapter of the WBC meets at the Borromeo Prayer Center on the third Wednesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  The meeting format comes from the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University and includes prayer, a reflection on a Scripture reading, and discussion around challenges business leaders have in the areas of ethics, morals and values.  If you are a leader and would like to come together regularly with others to address ways you can be a more authentic Christian leader in your profession, consider joining us.

The meeting is co-facilitated by Mary Ann Fackelman and Patricia Scouten.  Both Mary Ann and Patricia had previously been trained at Georgetown University in facilitating the Woodstock program call “Faith and Values at Work.  They see the Woodstock Business Conference as a powerful spiritual aid to leaders.

Feel free to recommend this to others you think might be interested.

Please give Mary Ann Fackelman or Patricia Scouten a call at (585) 663-5856 for more information, to request a brochure, or to let us know you are coming to a meeting.

A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE
WOODSTOCK THEOLOGICAL CENTER

Woodstock Theological Center is located at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.  One of its initiatives is the Woodstock Business Conference which is “…a national movement of spiritual and social renewal for the business community.  The conference aims to help business and professional executives to move with practical wisdom toward greater integration in their lives and more effective leadership.”

The conference began in 1992 to address some questions raised by a group of business leaders, such as, “What difference does it make, and for whom, if business leadership is seen as a call for excellence, a call to do God’s  will?"

In one of the conference newsletters we read:  “The Judeo-Christian tradition sees business as a calling, a vocation.  This tradition highlights the fact that as a business person you are a steward, entrusted with God’s creation.  You employ your talents and skills.  You manage the assets at your disposal for the creation and distribution of wealth, employment, products, and services.  The executive, manager, and professional need to be able to perform with skill and competence.  Hopefully, you can do so with peace of mind.  Business people gather in Woodstock Business Conference chapters to reflect on their religious faith and its meaning and impact on the totality of their lives.”

A PASSOVER SEDER – OUR NINTH ANNUAL

(Includes dinner and ritual foods)

Monday, March 10, 2008

6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

This Seder is an authentic Jewish celebration for use in a Christian context.  In this Passover Service we are not “remembering” the events of an ancient past; all of those events are brought into the present by the ritual in which we participate.  The focus is on two events central to the history of God’s people: The Exodus and Christ’s celebrating the Passover with His disciples.  Authentic recipes will be used for the ritual food and lamb dinner to follow.  Why not bring your family with you!

Tickets:       Adult:  $13.00       Senior:  $12.00      Child under 15:  $11.00

Tickets are on sale at the Borromeo Prayer Center, 3011 Dewey Avenue, from February 20th until March 28th.

We can accept check or cash.

The Seder Supper will be in the Parish Center (lower level of the school.)
