I need to let you know about the hubbub yesterday’s Des Moines Register article has caused here in my office. It was with great pride that I read we will NOT be outdone in the popcorn ball arena! In today’s dark economic climate, it’s easy to become depressed. But it’s news like this that brings a welcome smile… J
I had to dig out my old photo of the original popcorn ball and post it by my desk with the article. Many of my co-workers were filled with curiosity about the original and subsequent balls: What was done with them? Who made them? What did they taste like? How were they transported, stored, etc.? Unfortunately, I have only the second-hand knowledge of my family and Sac friends to share. I currently have a previous commitment on the 28th, but if that should happen to change, I’ll surely venture home to help with the third generation popcorn ball!
Please give my regards to all of the great popcorn ballers of Sac City. Best of luck with your next big popcorn ball endeavor!

Way to go Sac County! According to yesterday's Des Moines Register (2/10/09) the residents of Sac County plan to take back the Guinness World Record for the largest popcorn ball.
I know you can do it! Thanks to Noble Popcorn, the Sac County Economic Development office and the people of Sac County for this positive promotion of your area and the State of Iowa.
I know that alot of people will continue to visit Sac County where "things are always poppin!"

Message Subject: HOME
I have lived away from Sac City since 1966, but it is still home. The town is clean and the tree-lined streets are the envy of many small towns. The town stays energized with a positive spirit with the help of some people who want to see it grow and be a place visitors may see as a good place to move to raise their children. Thank God for the friends of Sac City who work so hard to see that it stays a vibrant community and do not just sit home and complain like so many communities see happening. In my heart Sac City will always be HOME.
