Lodging in Sac County

Lake View

The Tjaden Motel is located on Highway 71 in Lake View, with nine rooms, all-smoking. It is within walking distance of Black Hawk Lake and has easy access to the entire community. For more information, please contact Faye Kruse at 712-657-8771.

Black Hawk Condos - located on the southeast side of the lake, there are eight units for rent, all fully furnished and on the lake. Five units have two bedrooms each and three units sleep six people. To book these, call Linda Telin at 712-657-2019.

Marie's Bed and Breakfast is a modern brick home located near Black Hawk Lake. There are 2 bedrooms; one has a queen-sized bed and private bath. The other bedroom has an extra-long double bed and a single bed with a shared bath. For more information or to place reservations contact Roy or Marie Werkmeister at 712-657-2486.

The Armstrong House is century-old two-story house. The house has three bedrooms, and is located only three blocks from Black Hawk Lake. For more information please contact Jean Henriquez at 712-657-2535 or Charlie Hundling at 712-657-2535.

Camp Crescent located on town bay has 250 reservable sites along with a sandy beach staffed with lifeguards from 1:00 -6:00 p.m., playground equipment, concession stand, miniature golf course and a boat ramp. Reservations are accepted for 184 of the designated sites that have sewer, water and electric hook-ups. Camp Crescent also has a 20' x 12' furnished cabin that sleeps 4 available for rent. The cabin has air conditioning, refrigerator and a microwave. There is no water service to the cabin. For more information call 712-657-2189

Thirty Acres is located on the south side of Black Hawk Lake and offers 128 sites, 89 with electricity and 10 with water. Those sites with electricity have both 30-amp and 5-amp breakers and sit on gravel pads. Campsites can be reserved on line at http://www.iowadnr.com or 712-657-8712.

The DNR Cabin is located directly adjacent to the game reserve, the Stubb Severson Memorial Trail and the Sauk Rail Trail. This is a refurbished, modern cabin with one and half bathrooms, four bedrooms, heat and AC. The cabin sleeps 10 and is handicap accessible. It is equipped with a full size refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, a coffee pot and pots and pans. No table service is provided and the renter must furnish their own linens. The cabin can only be reserved for a minimum of a week from May 1-Sept. 30 or 2 nights minimum from Oct. 1 - April 30th on-line at http://www.iowadnr.com or for more information, call the Black Hawk State Park office at 712-657-8712.


Odebolt

In Odebolt there is a bed and breakfast called Hattie Grace Boarding House.  The Boarding House has four bedrooms, three with queen-sized beds and one with twin beds.  There is a shared bathroom on the 2nd floor.  Check out the package specials.  Accommodations are available for dogs.  For more information please call 712-668-2265.

The Travelers Home is also located at 200 W. 2nd St., in Odebolt.  There are two furnished 1-bedroom apartments with hide-a-bed sofas, the apartments will sleep up to 4 people.  These may be rented daily or on a weekly basis and are great for special occasion guests, hunters, and genealogy visitors.   For more information call Madeline Meyer at 712-668-4184 or 712-668-2895.

Odebolt RV Park has 10 sites available.    Eight of these sites have electricity and 2 are without electricity.    Four of these sites also have water.  It is located at 6th and Willow along Odebolt Memorial Creek Walk.  Restroom facilities are located at the park ½ block away.    For more information, contact City Hall at 712-668-2231.


Sac City

The Four Cats B & B is a restored arts and crafts style home with a beautiful view of the river located in Sac City. There are 3 bedrooms; 1 with king-size bed, 1 with queen-size bed and 1 with a double bed, and a business center equipped with high speed internet/fax and computer/conferencing capabilities. Sac County Conservation has both modern and primitive areas renting for $15.00 a night for a modern campsite that includes water, sewer, and electric hook-ups.  The primitive camping is no hook-ups and costs $10.00 per night.

Riverside Campground, located in Sac City's Chautaugua Park, has 21 sites with full hookups including (30 & 50 amp electric, cable TV and soft water), 18 x 50' spacious shaded sites, primitive sites also available. Amenities include sanitary dump, restrooms, showers, picnic tables; campfire rings with cooking area, and a dog waste disposal area. Enjoy canoeing, fishing, Frisbee golf, or walk along the river and view the historic Chautauqua Building and log cabin built in 1854.
