Funding the Shepherd’s Center

From a financial perspective, Shepherd’s Center modest budget of $29,480 leverages impressive outcomes. During the past year, through the Shepherd’s Center, over 200 Senior volunteers again contributed more than 9,000 hours of service to our area community.

The value of the contributed volunteer work more than quadrupled each budgeted dollar. Shepherd’s Center volunteers are active. They offer respite care and peer support to Seniors and their families, tutoring to children, provide rides, deliver meals, set up educational programs, arrange health information programs, coordinate community events, and the list goes on. Our seniors are involved, engaged and actively contributing to the quality of life we all enjoy in Cannon Falls and the greater Cannon Valley area. While we are absolutely blessed with strong volunteers and support for our programs, we continue to be financially vulnerable in 2006.

Shepherd’s Center continues to be fiscally responsible, and resourceful. One hundred percent of our entire budget comes directly from our community. Because we are local, your tax deductible dollars stay in our community! Annually, we hold two major fund raising events and sell Cannon Valley Fair tickets We are thankful to the School District for use of the Community Center space for our office and drop-in Center. Many churches graciously host Shepherd’s Center events. . In addition, we seek supportive funding from businesses, organizations, professionals, churches and individuals.

We are sincerely appreciative of the enthusiastic response to the 2005 mid-year business funding appeal. These donations from the local business community affirm our mission and our work.

We thank you for your support and humbly request that you consider investing in the Shepherd’s Center of the Cannon Valley. It is an investment grounded in visioning, nurturing, and sustaining a vital and healthy place to live and retire
