This wreck happened during the Tennessee Ice Storm of 1995. A semi was on an exit ramp of Interstate 40, when the smaller cab-over truck couldn't stop fast enough due to the layer of ice on the roadway. The truck plowed into the trailer of the first truck pinning the driver's legs in the wreckage.

This picture shows the coverage of ice on the roadway. It was not only treacherous for the drivers but also for the rescuers working around the vehicles. Sand was spread to aid in traction. You can see the hydraulic pump and ram ready for action.
Once it was determined that the semi trailer was not attached from the impact to the smaller truck, we had the semi pull forward so we could have room for the rams to push the dash forward.

This last picture shows that we used the jaws to pop the door open. The A-post was then cut and rams were used to push the dash off of the patient's legs. The patient was then removed and taken to a local hospital.
