“Memories Of Yesterday” is a gospel music recording, available in CD and cassette. It includes 12 gospel songs, sung and performed in the old-time country and bluegrass styles of music. The songs are mostly older songs, though a few songs are originals written or co-written by Roland. “Memories Of Yesterday” is Roland’s second solo recording; it was released in 2003. Roland did the producing, engineering, singing, and played the instruments on the “Memories Of Yesterday” recording. Most of the song selections are tunes and songs Roland remembers hearing in boyhood. A medley contains some old recordings of Roland, his siblings, and mother. A unique part of this recording are special sound effects of nature, monkeys, a telephone, and vinyl record crackles and pops. “Memories Of Yesterday” has received airplay on various radio stations and internet radio, and it was featured on the Shenandoah Bluegrass program on WBTX-AM in Broadway, Virginia. |
