Richard's Interests

Here are some of my interests at this stage of my life.

Here I am in my MacFarlane Kilt and day jacket while attending the Highland Games at Alma, Michigan in June 2002. Mimi and I enjoyed attending Highland Festivals during the summer. I have been feeling the call of my mother's Scottish roots.

This is Tullach Ard, the pipes and drums of Hillsdale College piping out the year on the last day of classes, 2002. Pipe Major D J Krogol (upper left) looks on. The band wears the MacIntyre tartan. I have learned to play the Great Highland Pipes.

OOver the years, we have enjoyed hosting several foreign exchange students. This is Sarah loving on Samantha. We visited Sarah and her gracious family in Berlin in May, 2001.

Here is my wife of 36 years, Mimi on her war pony, Raf. Mimi and I ride together and I am about to buy my own horse. In June, 2001, we did an eight day horseback ride in the Lot Valley of Southern France.

In May, 2000 we visited County Sligo, Ireland. The county is rich with ancient megalithic sites and here I am at the "Laby Rock," a portal dolmen. People moved these stones about the time the pyramids were being built.

Our pack; Smokey, Boone, Samantha, and Gerda. They are all rescued, homeless strays. Three are pure-bred German Shepherds. They are posing along the fence line during a spring walk. As of December, 2004 Gerda And Sam have gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
