Introduction

          Thank you for stopping by my web pages.  It has been my  goal to gather as much information on My branch of the Sharman family as possible. As with any Genealogical
research,  additional information will be added in the future concerning family members in England,  Scotland, Australia and Canada along with various family members of mine in the United States.   I will also try to expand on additional family Surnames such as "Dale",
"Scott" and "McCallum".
            Most of the names and dates have been documented with certificates of birth,
death and marriage. 

On a web site called  Surname Distribution,  in 1990,  there is only  one "Sharman" in
     10,000 (or less) in the United States.

      A little about myself:  My name is Richard Paul Sharman...born in Brooklyn,
New York on April 8, 1945...I moved to Branchport, New York in 1965.....
Branchport is located in the heart of the "Finger Lakes Region" of western "New York State"(approx. 55 miles south east of Rochester, N.Y.)  and is situated on the western tip of Keuka Lake.

       Keuka Lake is shaped like a  Y  and lies amongst Lakes  Canandaigua, Seneca and
Cayuga.  The lakes are lined with summer cottages and year around homes. 
Numerous farms and vineyards are located on the "Rolling Hills" overlooking the lakes
and it is said that they remind people of the hills of Scotland.
      Tourism is one of the main assets of the area and the major industries are
Grape/Wine Production and Dairy Farming.  Most Wineries are "family owned and
operated".  Some very popular wines are produced right in Branchport at "Hunt Country Vineyards"  so if you find yourself in this area be sure to stop in for a tour of the winery.
