Every July I join up to 100 other artists on the sidewalks of downtown Syracuse, New York, drawing in chalk at the annual Arts and Crafts Festival. We "buy" one sidewalk square (approximately 4' x 4') and have 5 hours to create our artwork. There are prizes for Best Adult, Best Youth, Best Copy of a Master, and People's Choice (voted by festival-goers).

It is really fun, and anyone who likes to draw (even if chalk on a sidewalk isn't "their medium") should try it!
