Using a tape and handouts from the book Evolutionary Faith: Rediscovering God in our Great Story by an Irish priest, Diarmuid O'Murchu, we will explore the parts that God and different religions played in the evolution of the world. We will consider some of the controversies that flow from the millions of years of the evolutionary history of the world and the more recent history of the different world religions. O'Murchu's book Evolutionary Faith is a powerful and engaging book. Suggested Offering: $8 Location: Lower Level of the Sisters' Residence.
Spring Birds: Migration and Feeding
Presenter: Merrill Frydendall Ornithologist
Date: Sunday, April 24, 2005 2:00-4:00pm
This session will include a slide/discussion of birds of the region, which ones we might be seeing at the present time and information about feeding birds. If time and weather permit we will take a short walk around the grounds to see what birds might be present.

Michael Cotter, third generation, Southern Minnesota farmer, dad, and storyteller will present a program on real life stories and poems. He is a combination of pride in straight cornrows and concern for a healthy environment. His Irish-Catholic heritage gives him the gift of compassion and understanding, blended with a little blarney; and his gentle nature invites his audiences to look deep within themselves to find their own stories. He believes in farming, in people, and in the healing power of storytelling.

Wellness and Creative Expression
Presenter: Lavonne Fischer Art Educator and Therapist, Spiritual Director
Dates: Tuesday, May 17 (7:00pm) to Wednesday, May 18 (4:00pm), 2005
Participants will be introduced to creative expression as an avenue for exploring and deepening the creative self for wellness and for personal and spiritual growth. The Retreat will include discussion, sharing, journalling, reflection and hands on activities. No art experience necessary. Materials provided.
Suggested offering: $75 (if overnight); $60 commuter Offering includes program, materials and meals.
Overnight participants will need to bring their own sheets and towels. Location: Retreat Center
Holy Spirit Retreat Center will hold two long retreats this coming summer. For further information on these two retreats, contact the Center: God of Peace, Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace Dates: Sunday, June 12 (7:00pm) through Saturday, June 18 (noon) Presenter: Kathleen Warren, OSF - Franciscan Scholar, Author This retreat will reflect simply on the witness and invitation of Francis of Assisi, which exhorts each of us to commit ourselves with new energy to embrace the radical gospel of peace. It will include conferences, Liturgical prayer, personal reflection and sharing. Meals will be provided.
Dates: Friday, July 8 (7:00pm) through Tuesday, July 12 (4:00pm) A weekend retreat of Friday (7:00pm) through Sunday 4:00pm is an option. Presenters: Patricia Sablatura and Cecily Schroepfer, OSF In this retreat each participant is invited to experience the profound web of beauty and love which is the gift of Creation. The retreat will include personal tools for dream tending:; community dream work; immersion in the beauty of nature; relaxation and reflection; self-expression and ritual. Vegetarian meals will be provided.
