Do You Ever Wonder…
Do you ever wonder why anyone would
toss things out of a boat or out the window of a vehicle? If you see
someone involved in this activity, you might remind him or her how long
that waste remains before it breaks down:
Orange peels….up to 2 years
Plastic bags….10-20 years
Cigarette butts….1-5 years
Aluminum cans….80-100 years
Glass bottles….1 million years
Tin cans….50 years
Plastic bottles….indefinitely
Wool socks….1-5 years
Caring Meditation: How to
Pray for Yourself and Others
Center yourself
by focusing on your breath. As you breathe, tune in to the aliveness of
your body. With a short phrase, open yourself to the flow of Spirit,
Life, Energy.
Let yourself be filled with Light
in your imagination. Feel it energize, warm,
and
calm you. Saturate yourself in its
goodness.
See the person you care about in
your mind and let the Light flow through you to surround and suffuse
them. Hold them in this Light, and simply
wish good for them. See them responding positively to the light, but
refrain from dictating specific outcomes. You may wish to conclude with
a verbal blessing or final prayer.
