Pastor Steve Brouwer
I was born and raised in western Michigan where I graduated from Hudsonville Public School years ago. Although I did work for D.H.I.A. and I was a summer camp counselor (CHR) and Jr. & Sr. High intern in churches, I did eventually become a graduate (BA) of Northwestern College in Orange City,IA and Fuller Theological Seminary (M. Div.) in Pasadena, CA. In Sacramento, I had the privilege of being a hospital chaplain (Sutter Memorial - CPE), as well as being on staff at a couple of churches over 7.5 years as a Youth Director (Christ Community Church) and Director of Congregational Life (Crossroads Community Church). About a decade ago, we moved back to the mid-west to serve a church as an Associate Pastor in Chicago, IL (First Reformed Church of South Holland). 3.5 years later we accepted the call to become the Founding Pastor of Rejoice! Community Church. My wife, Brenda, & I have been married almost 20 years. We have lived in Le Mars and been in mission with Rejoice! since March, 2000. We have three children, Emily, Olivia, Trevor and a dog named Sophie. I enjoy NASCAR, the NFL, the CUBS, reading, go on walks, biking, golfing, fishing, bus driving, and traveling with our family. Like my wife, I love being a part of a church that can multiply Christ’s body, as well as be a transforming agent in people's lives and have a major impact in transforming a community eternally! |

I also work for Ecumenical Institute as the assistant to the executive director, doing very similar work as I do at Rejoice. Pam Reeves and Lisa Scheitler, Treasure Isle (K-5th Grade)
Pam Reeves (Treasure Isle)"I've grown up under the teachings of Jesus since I was born, but I developed a passion for Him in my thirties. The same power that raised Christ form the dead dwells in me. I am earnestly trying to walk the walk He has for me. My hands are His hands by faither." Pam and her husband, Gene, reside in the LeMars area and she has been a Kindergarten teach at Clark Elementary for over 20 years. Lisa Scheitler (Treasure Isle) "I was raised unchurched. I knew of God & had a few childhood experiences of Sunday School and VBS at times.....It was in high school that I was watching TV one night and ended up watching the Billy Graham show all alone in my bedroom. I was 17, heard the message and decided I wanted Jesus in my life and accepted him into my life....It is my calling to help minister in an artful way to kids - God has placed this desire in my heart in a very big way. All of my artistic focus is on the Lord and what I can do to bring His word to kids in an artful, truthful & creative way." Lisa, along with her husband, Mark, and 2 sons, lives in LeMars and is an artist. |
