9/15/04 Mr. Scott, I am amazed at the number of comments I receive on your aircraft - people want to know what it is, and why it flies so well. I let them know that it is the same aircraft used at your flight school and that plans are available... :) I am amazed at how well it will do a tailslide, and enjoy doing them. In fact, once I got it into a nearly-perfect tailslide. Yep, you probably guessed it - didn't have quite enough room to recover. It survived much better than expected, due mostly to the big flexible landing gear I suspect. I recently competed in a Citywide Fun Fly here in Indy a few weeks ago and was able to get the highest round score - beating several purpose-built fun fly planes! I must admit however, that squeaking under the 4' limbo with poles set 16' apart was a bit daunting. :) This past weekend our club hosted a Fly-In to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. They wanted someone to tow a US flag for the opening ceremony and I got drafted - since I had a plane big enough and slow enough to do it. The big ole bird handled the job no problem. Thanks for designing such a great flying airplane - everyone that I let fly it thoroughly enjoys the experience. I started flying back in '86, and have flown all types of aircraft, but if I could only have one it would probably be my "Slow n Low". Chuck Baker.. Indianapolis, IN |
