Faster - Better - More Fun

Other sources tell you what to do. Only 1st U.S. R/C Flight School teaches you How in the least amount of time!

The 1st U.S. R/C Flight School's commitment to the support and satisfaction of each person trained is not only our promise to you, but has ensured the School's growing success and reputation for systematic results-based instruction!

You'll flight-train at our private flying site in a dedicated learning environment utilizing our proven DAS System step-by-step structure--building up to consecutive Solos and Confidence.

Primary Solo flight training runs May through September with each class running 5 days -- Monday through Friday -- Class sizes are held to 3 people.

The flight instruction will be tailored to each of you individually. Personal attention, combined with the exchanges between fellow attendees of similar motivations, maximizes your potential for learning throughout the week!

The week of "hands-on" flight instruction, training aircraft, and all support equipment are provided by the School for the tuition of $599.00.

You'll be flying Large airplanes (named SLOW-N-LOW) designed by the instructor. Flying larger planes allows us to continue to effectively train in the windy conditions you’ll encounter flying for 5-days straight--therefore instilling in you the confidence to fly in wind after the course!

We'll train using the "Trainer (buddy) System". You’ll control the airplane with a transmitter connected by a cord to the instructor's transmitter. The instructor can instantly take back control, but only when absolutely necessary, so that you can focus on learning with less anxiety until your skills have increased. You'll also have much more time to think-through and recover from any mistakes, thus learn from them, and build confidence in your control-skills.

Instruction will begin Monday at 9:00 A.M. with "Ground School", where we will discuss:

1. Previous experience.
2. Your goals in R/C.
3. Overview of the 5-day-sequence of instruction.
4. Uses of transmitter controls and effects.
5. The DAS System critical elements to accelerated Solo.

After an approximate two-hour Ground School we'll head to the flying field where we'll spend the rest of the week flight training.

The principle emphasis in your training will be SYSTEMATIC HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE at the side of the world's most experienced R/C Flight Instructor, who's focus on R/C flight instruction and your success is his full-time profession.

Flight training will begin with David Scott thoroughly discussing and demonstrating his unique system of techniques and procedures designed to effect immediate success, enhance practice effectiveness, and keep you "ahead" of the airplane--versus reacting to it, before each flight.

That’s what the DAS System is all about: Taking the universal good flying practices shared among all competent pilots, traditionally built-up over long periods of time, and systematically applying them to the student pilot from day one!

The instruction follows a systematic "building block" (crawl-walk-run) format. Each lesson is introduced in sequence as part of the Whole of requirements necessary to fly a safe controlled Solo flight -- delivered at your best pace so as not to pressure or limit you:

A. We'll introduce one step at a time. B. When each step is accomplished, another progressive step is added, until Solo is achieved. C. Once Solo is achieved, we will then break down your flight in more detail in order to refine and solidify it (accumulating 30 to 40 Landings in the process).

Due to the unmatched experience of training hundreds of people at this School, your instructor will be able to immediately pinpoint and advise the solutions necessary to overcome any trouble-spots you may experience along the way--with minimum interruption in your overall consistent progress and confidence. No other source can give you that kind of experience and personal attention!

Of course, the greatest "plus" of our training Course is the concentrated day-after-day practice! Each day you’ll be practicing the techniques that have consistently proved to produce the best results when learning to fly, in the least amount of time, and to meet the goals of each person attending:

Good-habits.
Avoidance of mishaps.
Long-term time and money savings.
Solo independence!

Notes for enrollees:

Due to the Course's constantly improving hands-on efficiency, enrollees are getting more out of their "stick time", but there are limits to how much any person can effectively take in each session. The training schedule will begin each day at 9:00 A.M. and finish approximately 2:00 or 3:00 P.M. At the end of each day's session, your instructor will note your specific areas of consideration to study and/or review in the DAS System of Primary Flight Training manual (highly recommended reading before taking the course) for the next day'sflying.

You are welcome to bring your own plane. During the week your plane will be "pre-flighted", adjustments made if needed, and improvements added. When the 5th day's training is completed using the School trainers, your model will then be test-flown, trimmed, and you'll have the chance to familiarize yourself with your own plane.

This Flight School's primary emphasis is on flight instruction. Yet, throughout the training we'll also discuss and experience many subjects such as fuels, engines, radios, planes, etc.. You'll observe what brands of equipment hold up best under the constant use and abuse of daily training (and therefore can be expected to provide outstanding performance for the individual flyer).

To give you an idea of what the School's equipment is subjected to, here are the School's performance totals as of the end of the 2003 training season:

Number of Pilots trained:..........................Over 1070
Number of flights:......................................Over 26,750
Actual flight time:......................................Over 7,500 hrs.
Number of landings:..................................Over 81,050

Age range of students: from 7 to 84; average age: 55
