I just wanted to let you know again how much I enjoyed the aerobatics class. You certainly were right in that it met or exceeded every expectation. I was amazed at how well my Ultra sport flew once I returned from the school -- somebody must have switched planes on me while I was gone. I notice steady improvements each time I fly and this is something I just wasn't experiencing prior to your courses. Thanks again Dave! Daniel H.. Bountiful, UT |

I often think about our sessions notwithstanding the dramatic impact on my flying. I now CONTROL what happens by not always reacting. I anticipate what is going to happen and put in the correct inputs and TRUST what will happen. I plan ahead for things that might happen and make adjustments before they occur or when they occur. I read something in your manual every night -- good stuff. I can tell you spent a lot of time writing and refining what you wrote. Jim P.. Beverly Hills, CA
I just got back from my first contest. I flew the Sportsman Routine in 15-25MPH winds. Without practicing since training with you, I placed second and had a blast. Can't wait to start practicing. Todd S.. Freehold, NJ (Todd placed 1ST in his next contest with a perfect score of 4000!) |

I'm working the rudder in my maneuvers. Amazing, it works back home just like at Dave's field <grin>. Now I'll practice bringing my maneuvers closer and lower, just like you said I would. Thanks again. Mike G.. Eagan, MN |

I flew yesterday for the first time since the flight school. Everything went perfect and I felt totally relaxed. I look forward to returning to take the next aerobatics course. I'm certainly "over the hump" and I now feel comfortable flying in any attitude. Thanks for the great time. Lou S.. Sparks, MD |

What another wonderful week I spent under your great teaching and direction, and I wished that I could have been there again this Monday. I know you have heard this many times, but I must repeat it again: You are not only a great teacher, but a very dedicated professional who knows how to inspire your students to "reach for the sky". Michal M.. Lake Forest, IL |

My brother and I are both very pleased with our progress throughout the week long session. We have, and will continue to recommend your flight school to those looking for this type of concentrated, personal attention in sharpening their skills. Gary S.. Springfield, IN |

Dave believes there are two basic types of flyers. Most club flyers are "Reactors" who watch what the airplane is doing and react to deviations. By definition, they are slightly behind the airplane. For a "Reactor", improvement takes lots of practice and fuel for incremental improvements. I had been flying like this. On the other hand, "Controllers" anticipate the appropriate corrections to prevent the deviation before it occurs. They are thinking ahead of the airplane. An important part of being a "Controller" is identifying which corrections need to be made ahead of time. This is the heart of the DAS (David A. Scott) system in his manuals, and used at the flight school. Ken W.. Fremont, MI
You have provided the basis from which I have been able to move ahead and perfect what you so skillfully and patiently taught me. Thanks to your instruction I'm able to anticipate the maneuvers and what corrections to make to do them better. I'm amazed by how quickly Ive progressed. You have an amazing way of teaching the basics and also stressing the finer points to achieve perfection without making it a grueling task. In addition to flying, the information you provided on equipment selection, setups, and what works would take years of experimenting to achieve. You debunk the myths. I honestly didnt know how you were going to exceed my expectations in this class in comparison to the quantum leap in the basic class over a year ago, but you did. Jim H.. Birnamwood, WI
Each time I attend the school I'm even more impressed by how clearly you organize the lessons and how easy you make it to learn. How the maneuvers were flown seemed to be a closely guarded secret in the sport before I came to your school. Now, thanks to you, I feel I have the foundation to do just about anything with practice. Keep up the good work. Robert Y.. Casper, WY |

After another most productive week at your school, I now not only feel I have the foundation to learn any maneuver required for IMAC competition, but I'm confident I'll also place well. Eddie P.. Pittsburgh, PA (Eddie finished 3rd in his first IMAC competition) |

Each time I take one of your courses I think I've learned just about all there is to learn. Then, you show me a whole new level of flying. I continue to be amazed by your expert tutelage. Ed S.. Kingwood,TX |

I also want to thank you for completing another very successful week of training. Aerobatics are no longer intimidating as once was perceived by me. I gained the knowledge to know how to correct errors, and yet has also instilled the "fun" into the hobby. Your additional input on equipment, engines, fuel, maintenance, etc. will be very helpful and cleared the air of a lot of misunderstood information. Thanks again. Paul M.. Plymouth, MN |

I now have a solid foundation to build on step by step. I understand that more intricate maneuvers are simply an extension of good basic maneuvers strung together. The school has allowed me to become an R/C pilot that can perform a complete routine with confidence and competence. The school has been invaluable. Melvin J.. Manitoba, CAN |

What a great time I had flying with you. It was truly one of those great memorable aviation experiences of my life. I can't get the grin off my face! Woddie W.. Dundee, IL
With hundreds of hours of dual instruction time, I was certain I had the skills to self-learn aerobatics. It was ugly to watch as myself as the "club instructor" started crashing his models while attempting what I believed were minor aerobatics. Matters became worse as my former students wanted me to teach them aerobatics. More models stated hitting the ground. I had just about given up when I saw your ad and booked a session in your aerobatic school. You will be pleased to know that back home I have put your manual and school knowledge to work. My rudder control is improving with every flight, and "yes", I'm staying ahead of the airplane. Thanks for all your help, and saving my reputation at the field. Tony B.. Silver Cliff, WI
It was a great course. I made more progress in the 10 months after attending your sport aerobatics school than I had in the previous 5 years. Dan H.. Bountiful, UT
My time in Shawano in the past two years has been invaluable, and I cannot thank you enough for what you have taught me. Bob B.. Greenfield, WI
I flew my Cap this last Saturday at our local airport and blew their minds. I started out with my vertical lines, then 1/2 reverse cubans, and a cuban 8 at center. Then a avalanche when I returned to show center. The winds were about 15 MPH blowing in at me, just needed a little left rudder at the north end of the field and about 1/4 right rudder at the south end. P factor was more involved at the south end. I did get a round of applause from the guys who were grounded due to the wind. Well that's my flight report one week after school. James B.. Northwood, IA
My flying is getting better and better every day. I attribute that directly to the foundation I received from your excellent training. Ed P.. Export, PA
My son(Zach) and I attended one of your classes last summer and we had a great time. On the trip back, Zach said he liked it so much that he wanted to come back again year. Do you have any openings? Terry O.. Darien, IL
I'm now flying in much stronger winds than before the course, in order to practice serious rudder corrections. Right now, I actually look forward to windy days more than quiet ones. As a result I went out with another electric I have in approx. 20plus knot winds. I was having so much fun I tore the servos out of the wings! Got to love this hobby. Bela B.. Gates Mills, OH
I was truly impressed the first day of your intermediate aerobatics course with the fact that I hadn't lost that much skill after my two year hiatus and was able to pick right up where I left off. The aerobatic maneuvers that I learned simply continued to build on the basics you taught me in the basic aerobatics course, and I was able to put together a routine that incorporated all that I had learned during the week. This is truly a testament to the basics learned during your beginning courses. I plan to sign up for the advanced aerobatic course. I am totally confident that whether that be a year or several years from now that I will be able to pick up exactly were I left off. Thanks Dave... you are truly an asset to the RC community. Chris L.. Fort Wayne, IN
I can honestly say that I have never been more satisfied with any investment of my time, energy and money than I am with the training provided by your school. In my analysis, the return on investment will continue to accrue for as long as I am active in the sport. Bob K.. Cedarburg, WI
I started Daves school not much more than a newly soloed pilot. At the end of the week I was able to fly a number of planes and perform the majority of aerobatics: Loops, Immelmanns, half and full Cuban 8s, reverse Immelmanns and reverse 8s, four and eight point Hesitation Rolls and more. I received not only the primary diploma but also the aerobatic diploma, usually only given after the second year of the school. Not bad for a guy that thought he couldnt fly the week before. The other fellows in the class hadnt really flown before and they both soloed on the third and forth day. Dave H.. Medford, Oregon
I went up for the first time since taking the class. I am happy to report that I landed the Dirty Birdi for the first time, and I have been trying forever to land this thing. Yesterday, I landed it like it was nobody's business. I will get back to you about taking the advanced class. Louis H..
What a difference a little flight instruction makes!! Even my landing were better!! It is such a pleasure to fly the various maneuvers with competence. The school decals are going on my planes ASAP. Marvin J.. Prescot, AZ
Apparently you have built a business using proper flight instruction methodology-i.e.-a SYLLABUS--- something unheard of a local fields. I observe the absolutely abysmal state of most flight instruction for modelers. Even contest caliber modelers can't seem to grasp the function of the rudder control in all phases of flight - including crosswind take off and landing technique. Just as in full size flying - proper instruction (making the airplane do what the PILOT wants it to do as opposed to accepting whatever the plane wants to do and sorta guiding it around) is the only way to learn consistency. Your program indicates an understanding of proper instruction - 99% of articles on flight training that I read in trade pubs is utter garbage. I find your program truly worthwhile and would recommend it to aspiring modelers. Phil Sibille. Nats, Top Gun, Masters Champion
I have a very positive impression of your school, through my experience judging some of your students in contests. Your student Todd Siegel's performance is well above average for his experience. Much of that is the training he received from you. I've also reviewed the manuals from your school and was very pleased with the content. Ron Lockhart. AMA Aerobatics Director.
Hard to believe how far I've come since the Course. I thought you were crazy when you said I would be doing a full Aresti with Loops, Cubans, Humpty Bumps, Hammer heads with rolls and Snap Rolls! Well, I found out you weren't. James B.. Northwood, IA
This has been one of the best investments I've made in years. You're very professional and structured classroom setting effectively complimented the stick time you individually tailored to the student. You have succeeded in establishing the foundation that every RC pilot needs in order to be successful. Michael A.. Naperville, IL
Now when flyers hear that I have been to aerobatic flight school they always ask if it helped or if it was worthwhile. I cannot be more positive about my experience to other flyers. There was no other way for me to advance my skills so quickly. I am not sure any amount of time would have helped this much. I think differently about flying. As the flight school taught me, I no longer react to what the aircraft is doing. I anticipate what to do and control the plane. The smoothness of my flights is better. My flying is improving and I am having more fun flying aerobatics than ever. Ken W.. Fremont, MI
The school was without doubt the finest training seminar or short course I've ever taken. Herb C.. Plattsburgh, NY
Dave relayed some new ideas about control, "Trust your plan and your inputs." When we started flying it worked! Times when I couldn't see the plane very well, trusted my inputs, and here she comes! Wow! By the third day I wasn't even looking at the plane, just where it was heading. I didn't need to know WHAT the plane was doing because I KNEW what I had told it to do. Flying was actually becoming FUN. Dave Healy. Medford, OR
My flying buddies joked, "Why would you pay money for a flight school when you can fly here for free?" However, my first time back at the club field a buddy commented that I was having a good day, and my regular flying buddies wanted to know what happened. I had not been capable of flying like this two weeks earlier. My last flight finished with a knife-edge pass across the field and cheers upon landing. Ken W.. Freemont, MI
Because of the organization of the material, tailoring the lessons to the pupils needs and your constant input, my learning curve rose steadily and left me with the confidence and complete satisfaction that I could master the aerobatics routine at my home flying field. Jim K.. Lewiston, NY
Time and time again, both myself and my classmate Jim realized how critical parallel lines and level wings are to conducting aerobatic maneuvers, and more importantly, providing the framework for a sequence of maneuvers. Thank you again for providing the methodology and framework of basic flying techniques that continue to build my confidence and experience in flying R/C aircraft. Jeff W.. Dallas, TX
My only words for the "newbies" is set-up, set-up, set-up. Without a proper set up everything else goes bad. If you are not set up right then you are always reacting to the fact that the plane will not track right or come out of the maneuver prepared for the next one -- requiring a lot of REACTING to correct a bad position. Jim P.. Beverly Hill, CA
I've reset my airplanes' throws, centers of gravity and trims, with my first real understanding of their relationships to the plane and my skill level due to your instruction. Those 4 days rejuvenated my interest and desire to improve. You are an incredible teacher, who mixes the right amount of enthusiasm with an enormous knowledge of flight. Herb C..
