Geocaching is the newest, hottest high tech game that's hitting the outdoor crazy. The basic idea is to take this handheld Global Satellite Positioning receiver. Once you get your receiver, you go and log on to www.geocaching.com to find the coordinates to these hidden treasures that some are well hidden and some are fairly easy. Then you either have a choice to either download the coordinates the GPS receiver by using an small piece of software, (either shareware, or registered software) Now that everything is installed in to your receiver . Now you hop into your car and drive to the nearest point that you can drive to. Park you car and start hiking. Some of the caches range from 10ft from your car to up to 10 miles as far as I've seen. The farthest cache that I've went for was back 4 miles.
I really enjoy this game now that I've really gotten to it. I would have never seen half of the places that are well hidden out of site and not many persons know they are.
Other than the cost of your GPS unit, and your gas there is not much more gear to the game. 9Except for being in a decent bill of health)
