Nancy Elliott, Network Director of RAIHN
Nancy Elliott began at RAIHN as an MSW Intern from Roberts Wesleyan College in April 2008. In September of 2008, Nancy accepted the position of Interim Network Director while finishing up her MSW Program at Roberts Wesleyan. Since graduating in May ’09, she has been free to concentrate fully on RAIHN, and was hired as the Network Director in June.
Previously, Nancy was Office Manager at her husband’s company, Touchstone Technology Inc., (a manufacturer of special purpose keypads for computers) for 15 years before going to school for her degrees in Social Work. She completed numerous internships throughout the Rochester social service community (House of Mercy, Hillside, Family Service of Rochester, Highlands of Brighton, and Family Resource Center) and worked as a Preventive Social Worker at SPCC of Rochester for 3 years, and as a Community Based Clinician at Hillside Children’s Center for one year.
A mother of 4 sons (3 of whom serve proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps, the 4th son teaches in Fl.), Nancy currently lives in Greece with her husband Bob.
“It has been the Board’s and my pleasure to become acquainted with and to work with Nancy Elliott. She has initiated the next phase of RAIHN’s organizational development. The RAIHN program has not been on hold this year as Nancy puts her mark on the interim job. She and this year’s intern, Michelle Fulmer, have tried to bring “Life Skills” discussions into every guest’s program. Nancy has researched and networked herself and RAIHN with many of the area’s homeless resources; the Homeless Services Network as well as the Monroe County Department of Human Services service provider group. There is a normal cycle of development in the creation of a viable non profit. Erica Vera magnificently birthed RAIHN and left us after 4 ½ years in a position of great strength. Nancy has stepped into the job and worked with all the office systems and RAIHN committees to move RAIHN on to the next phase of RAIHN’s development.”
