The motto for our day care is...
LEARNING SHOULD BE FUN!
By using a creative, hands-on curriculum, the children
learn the basics, all in a fun and gentle way.
I believe in letting children blossom at their own speed,
as they are all made so wonderfully unique
and have their own timetable for learning.

Inside Our Classroom
We spend the majority of day care hours in this 12' x 20' kid-friendly space.
It used to be a 3-season porch but we converted it into a fully insulated,
heated & cooled room for our day care! We installed laminate
hardwood flooring and double pane windows and insulated doors.
My very handy hubby did most of the work himself and I'm very proud of him
and just love the way it turned out! I think it's just perfect for our classroom! :)
Day Care Welcome Area
Our Parent/Provider Communication Board
holds a Sign in/out sheet, Weekly Menus,
announcements, a calendar of events and
my day care qualification certificates.

Below that is a lidded bench for kids to sit on while
taking off and putting on their shoes and the kids' shoes
are put inside of it to keep them out of our way.
Each child is assigned his/her own coat hook,
Take Home drawer and Keep Here drawer.

Nearby are a Daily Schedule chart and Job Helpers chart.

Housekeeping Center
A kitchen set, play food, pots & pans, dishes,
shopping cart, baby dolls, doll clothes & accessories,
housekeeping supplies, and more keep the kids busy
using their vivid imaginations in this housekeeping
center. This is the only center that I never
remove due to its consistent popularity.

Circle Time Center
This is our Circle Time area where our learning activities begin each morning.

Toys & Puzzles & Books... Oh MY!
Our playroom is stocked with many, many things to keep kids
busy playing and learning all day long!

Number Center & Food Pyramid
The Counting Activity is a regular part of our
circle time activities. We play several games that
teach and reinforce number recognition, counting skills
and even simple addition and subtraction. This is another
favorite activity, the kids often ask to play the "number game"!
Our Food Pyramid poster is often discussed during meal
and snack times. The kids like to make a game out of trying
to figure out which food groups they are eating.

Computer Center
We have lots of fun and educational games for
the kids to play on the computer. We do, however,
restrict each child's screen time to encourage
more physical activities.

Day Care Table
We have a nice, large table for eating
and enjoying our many creative activities.

We Love to CREATE!
We have tons of arts and crafts supplies to keep nurture
the budding artist in every child!

Cozy Read & Rest Nook
When a child wants a little relaxation time, they can go to
this little cozy spot. There is a book rack full of fun story books,
a Story Reader with lots of books that read stories out loud,
as well as Leap Pads and other educational electronic games.

Outside Play Area
Our fenced backyard offers plenty of opportunities for fun
playtimes as the children refine their gross motor skills!
***********************************
There's Lots to Do in the Backyard!
We have a tire swing for the older kids, a swing set,
lots of bikes & ride-ons, a sandbox, Tonka trucks for digging dirt,
tables, slides, climbers, sports equipment and more!
Our "Toy Barn" is a shed that stores tons of toys and
other outdoor activities such as bubbles, chalk,
kid-size gardening supplies, bug catching supplies,
water play stuff, a parachute, sports equipment,
winter toys, sandbox toys and more!
You can see that our grass doesn't grow too well
from all the little feet trampling over it almost every day...
Oh well, the kids are worth it!
